I was born in Lima, Perú and was exposed to foreign languages at a very young age as my parents emigrated to Germany to further develop professionally. They became bilingual at their adult age and I learned German as my first language. I have to thank my parents' perseverance as they didn't allow me to lose what I had learned once we returned to Perú but made me develop that language even further. As a teenager I was exposed to English language, but it was during my college years that I really understood its need in any working environment and decided to study it. When moving to the USA I lived the immigrant experience that so many go through. This is precisely what I have been sharing with my students since 2007; not a theory but a reality that worked for me, a foreign language learner like you. I became a teacher at Concord High and have not left since. I love this school and love that my students feel at home in my classroom, where we together can enjoy this fascinating adventure to understand other languages and cultures.
